Tech Lead C++ Software Engineer - Global Quant Fund - NYC

What you’ll be doing

• Designing and building robust, scalable, high-performance systems in C++
• Working on complex software that requires strong systems-level understanding and runtime awareness
• Contributing across the stack, from core libraries to production trading systems
• Owning and driving complex technical initiatives end-to-end
• Working closely with quantitative traders to understand requirements, develop solutions and iterate quickly
• Providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers and potentially leading a small team

What we’re looking for

• Strong experience building large-scale, complex software systems in C++
• Solid understanding of systems fundamentals (memory, concurrency, data structures, OS concepts)
• Experience owning multiple technical projects and driving engineering decisions
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate directly with stakeholders
• Experience mentoring or leading engineers, or the potential to grow into a leadership position
• Trading industry experience is beneficial but not essential for all opportunities

Typical backgrounds

• Senior / Staff / Principal C++ engineers from leading technology companies
• C++ engineers working on infrastructure, platforms, distributed systems or core products
• Engineers with experience in trading systems, execution technology or market data
• Technical leads who remain hands-on and enjoy solving complex engineering challenges
